As we all know, working in the oil and gas industry often places our personnel in remote locations far removed from rapid, quality emergency and general medical care. We, at ENTECH, seek to rectify this situation by providing certified, trained paramedics to staff your oil and gas locations. This service provides high quality medical personnel to reduce the severity of injury and illness, as well as, increasing the moral of the employee and his family by knowing that advanced, highly trained medical care is only a few moments away.
All of our paramedics are Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician : Paramedics who are also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, and have completed our Advanced Clinical Skills Training Program. This Advanced Clinical Skills Training Program teaches the paramedic knowledge and skills needed to perform in the remote environment. These skills are not part of the standard paramedic curriculum, but are needed to fulfill the needs of the patients seen in this environment. Some of these skills are clinical assessment, suturing, antibiotic therapy, advanced eye and ear assessment and treatment, upper respiratory diagnosis and treatment, as well as many other skills. Our international medics are further trained in layered closures, 12-lead EKG interpretation, thrombolytic therapy, "tropical" diseases, advanced vascular access, etc. This course is given to the paramedic and he has demonstrated competency in these skills prior to his being placed on location. All paramedics have a minimum of two years paramedic level street experience prior to being employed by ENTECH.
Our paramedics are mandated by company policy to participate in our Continuing Education Program. This program assures that our medics maintain the standard of care required by ENTECH, as well as, increase the level of knowledge they have learned in both traditional and remote environment paramedicine. Annually, our paramedics attend our refresher training program, which refreshes the skills learned in the Advanced Clinical Training Program, allows the Medical Director to review each medic's skill level, and allows new techniques and information to be presented.
Our paramedics are under the medical supervision of our Medical Director, Kevin Rittger M.D. Dr. Rittger is an emergency department physician based in Houston, Texas. He is very familiar with the industrial and remote environment and the medical care needed to protect the personnel working therein. Dr. Rittger is available 24 hr/day for medical consultation with the paramedics on location. He reviews all patient contacts for proper patient care and procedures. Dr. Rittger also has direct oversight of the Training and Continuing Education Programs, both of which he actively participates in. We utilize the latest in electronic reporting and information delivery. Telemedicine programs are also available if the need arises.
ENTECH utilizes an equipment package specifically designed for the harsh, remote environment. We use a standard medical package that is then modified to suit a particular region or location, i.e. tropical environment, desert environment, cold environment, altitude, etc. We strive to maintain the most advanced, yet cost effective equipment to provide high quality medical care. ENTECH is capable of providing acute emergency care, as well as, routine clinical services and health promotions and preventions.
Our international paramedics are supported by a world wide infrastructure and support system. Having been in the international arena for over 10 years, we have developed the infrastructure necessary to provide the support medical operations need in foreign locations. ENTECH's international paramedics are some of the highest trained medics in the industry and are continuously evaluated and updated though our Continuous Performance Improvement Program. All medics have their skills and knowledge evaluated several times over the calendar year, as well as, having to attend the annual refresher training program for skill review.
In addition to providing emergency and routine medical care, our paramedics are available to perform ancillary duties outside of their medical responsibilities. These duties can be tailored to the individual customer as the need arises. Some of these duties include: health and hygiene inspections, medical monitoring, dispatching, environmental compliance, manifesting, safety, clerk duties, interactive computer training facilitator, maintain record of rentals, environmental controls and preventions, and a host of other duties as well.
